Arbitrage

Whistling is very important in hockey and that is why a lot of attention is paid to it within SHOT. We think it is important to pay attention to all different levels of referees. The competition secretary and the referee committee are responsible for everything regarding arbitration during the year.

If you do not yet have a referee card, you must obtain one in your first year. This opportunity is offered twice a year. Additional support is also offered to ensure optimal preparation for the exam.

For referees who do have a card but do not have much experience, guidance is offered in whistling. An experienced referee will then watch with you during the match. A refresher course is also offered twice a year. The first refresher course focuses on field hockey. During the second course everything about indoor hockey is discussed.

In addition, two courses are offered where more complex situations within field hockey are discussed. This is intended for referees who enjoy refereeing and are interested in refereeing matches at a slightly higher level.

For the enthusiastic referees among us, we offer the opportunity to follow a Club Referee Plus (CS ) course. Within SHOT we have one CS learning coach. If you follow the CS trajectory, you will receive a workshop from them, after which you will referee several matches in a season under the supervision of a CS learning coach. At the end of the process, a checklist and a practical test will be used to determine whether you have achieved the level of a CS referee. Would you like to know more about CS ? Then click here!

If you are interested in following the CS trajectory within SHOT, please send an email with a brief explanation to: redactiesecret@tshvshot.nl

Do you have to blow the whistle soon and would you like to read the rules carefully again? Or are you just curious about what exactly happened with certain rules and what has changed over the years? Then click here!

It is easy to start with the regular Field Hockey/Indoor Hockey Rules and the Rules in a Nutshell for a clear overview. In addition, small adjustments are made to the regular regulations every year. Either to remove ambiguities or to tighten rules. An overview of this can be found under the heading Briefing Club Referees and CS .

Since 2019, the KNHB has updated the digital competition form (DWF). There is now a separate verification code for both team support (manager/captain/coach) and referees. Want to know how it works? Then click here! Here you will find a separate DWF manual for team support and for referees.
